David Smus Seminar

On Saturday, June 23, 2001, Maine Sculptor and Carver, David Smus, presented a full-day seminar on his creation of limited edition bronze sculptures. After a brief talk about sculpture, composition, and materials, we saw a slide show which showed the entire process involved in his creation of a sculpture, from armature to final application of patina on the finished bronze. We were fascinated! Following a break for lunch we all got to work on our own clay sculptures, learning about armature building, tools and different types of clay. The results were wonderful...take a look at the pictures below. We all learned a lot....and had a great time, too!!!
Thanks, Dave!!!
